The whole point was to make a really good alpaca sweater. To us that meant:
- Made from royal alpaca, the finest grade of the fiber.
- Made to be lived in, not waiting for a special occasion.
- Cut to flatter and work everywhere you'd wear a sweater... and then some.
And then this turned into a few more things — knit pants (an underrated type of pant!), and shawls.

We use a dual-knit construction: royal alpaca on the outside, pima cotton against your skin. One fabric, two surfaces. The pima cotton provides structure while keeping royal alpaca's best qualities — its sheen, its softness, its warmth —uncompromised on the surface. Where the fiber can stand on its own, like our shawl, it does with 100% royal alpaca.
Our knitwear is made in Peru by Violeta and her team. Violeta built her workshop from the ground up, and posesses a wealth of knowledge when it comes to alpaca and textile construction. Finding her was finding someone who cared about getting this right as much as I did.
My mom, my aunts, the women who shaped me — equal parts intelligent and hilarious (seriously, I've gotten the best advice and best laughs from these women). I wanted to make something for them and have every part of the brand reflect them.
